I know you try your best to be as healthy as you can.
But life gets in the way, you get busy, good habits slowly get away from you.
You’ve got work stress and family stress and financial stress. Every week there’s a new news story about how this food is bad for you or this common household item is probably killing us all.
Meanwhile, you just want to live your life, eat what you enjoy and do things that make you happy.
As time goes on and good habits slip, stress and life take their toll, your health starts to decline.
Maybe you’ve noticed for yourself.
Maybe you’ve noticed you don’t sleep well, or you have trouble getting up in the morning.
Maybe you’ve noticed you don’t have the energy and focus you used to.
Maybe you’ve noticed you feel a little slower, a little weaker, a little heavier than you used to.
Maybe things just hurt all the time, for no good reason.
Maybe you just haven’t felt good in a long time, maybe you’ve convinced yourself that this is just what getting older feels like.
Maybe your doctor has told you if you don’t change your diet or lifestyle, or start taking this or that medication, things are only going to get worse.
And as things get worse, the care you need will only get more expensive and more invasive.
Here’s some examples of how expensive healthcare can be:
GLP-1 agonists like Ozempic and Wegovy to treat Type 2 Diabetes can cost $1,000-$1350 per month.
Insulin injections for Type 2 Diabetes can cost upwards of $6,000 per year.
Surgery for Type 2 Diabetes patients, such as a limb removal, can cost $20,000 or more.
Diabetic supplies like test strips and monitors can run around $1,200 per year.
Metformin, the common Type 2 Diabetes medication costs about $780 per year.
That’s not to mention the doctor’s appointments, lost time at work, travel to specialists, expensive lifestyle modifications, screenings for eye conditions and kidney disease, mobility issues, and more.
That’s not at all to say that YOU are on a path to Type 2 Diabetes, but to give an example of the cost of poor health.
It’s also an example of something that is completely avoidable.
Type 2 Diabetes, or even the issues from Pre Diabetes, are fully preventable and reversible.
But in order to keep from suffering through (and paying to manage) Type 2 Diabetes, you have to invest in your own health NOW.
That could mean buckling down and coming up with a plan on your own to start eating healthy food and moving your body every day. If you can do it yourself and stick with it long term, I applaud you.
I think most of us are going to need some help.
If you’ve never really exercised before, you might hire a personal trainer to help you get started and show you how to slowly make yourself stronger.
If you need someone to give you the tools to eat healthy, nutritious food, watch your macronutrients, manage your blood sugar and keep your insulin in check, you would hire a nutritionist.
That’s where I come in.
I want to help to keep you from developing a chronic disease like Pre-Diabetes or Type 2 Diabetes.
But you have to be ready to invest in your health. This only works if you’re willing to do the work.
Right now, my 6-month 1-on-1 program costs $3000.
That’s 6 months of support, accountability, and nutritional expertise that is going to get you off the chronic disease wagon.
Can a 6 month, $3000 nutrition coaching program keep you from having to spend $17,000 a year in healthcare costs?
I think it can.
