I know what it’s like to feel stuck.
You feel like something needs to change, but getting there is too hard, the climb too steep.
Quitting smoking is really hard.
Raising two boys is hard.
Starting your own business is hard.
Choosing to abstain from alcohol when all your friends imbibe is hard.
Overhauling your diet and your daily habits is hard.
Taking that next step toward a more energetic, healthy life is hard.
Doing the same thing you’ve been doing is easy. It’s comfortable.
Do the same thing you’ve always done. Get the same results you always get.
But our brains do this weird thing: Our brains accept the results we always get, and we rationalize why those results are good enough.
So we believe all the stories our brains tell us about why we can’t change what we’re doing, and why we don’t need (or deserve) better results.
“That’s just getting older, I guess.”
“I’ve got too much going on in my life right now.”
“My doctor said It’s just my genes.”
“I don’t know what else I can do.”
“Eating healthy is too expensive.”
These are all examples of a Fixed Mindset.
We believe these things because honestly, it’s easier than doing the work and making slow and steady progress.
The opposite of this is a Growth Mindset.
A growth mindset helps you realize that the results you want are possible.
Instead of “this is as good as it gets”, you think “I can get better at this.”
Changing your mindset isn’t always easy, but knowing that you can is a big first step.
You can start to believe:
“My age or genes don’t define me.”
“I can make time to prioritize my health.”
“I may not know what to do, but I know where to start.”
“Eating healthy food will save me money in the long run.”
“I can lose my extra weight and feel good again.”
If you’re stuck in a fixed mindset, if you don’t believe you can do more to improve your health, if you think “this is as good as it’s going to get”, well, you’re right.
But if you believe that every day is a chance to make progress, if you believe you can grow and change, if you believe you can do something to improve your health, energy and vitality…
You’re right.
Trying new things is scary, I get it. It could fail. But it could also be transformational.
Y’all, mindset is a huge part of my coaching programs. Having someone in your corner cheering you on and reminding you of what you’re capable of makes a massive impact.
We figure out what results you want to achieve, and then come up with the changes that will get you there together.
My 6-month, 1-on-1 coaching program is a ton of personalized accountability and support. We’ll spend a bunch of time working on mindset and how you can achieve your goals.
My (NEW!) program is all about supporting you in a group setting. We identify individual goals and work together on the steps you need to take to get there.
It’s 8 weeks of learning, growth, and camaraderie.
It’s called “Get Off The Roller Coaster” and I’m planning to launch it the first week of June.
It’s gonna be a lot of fun.
